There's something strangely revelatory about this piece. It looks as if somebody has been unexpectedly and brutally betrayed by the only person that ever cared about them, or so they thought. I love the mood that this piece imposes. As such, I must add this to my favourites.
Wow, this is gorgeous. It's so soft and lonely. The contrast between the white and grey is beautiful and the snowflakes are a prefect touch. Just the right amount of white space too. The whole thing is just put together perfectly. I think I'm going to stare at it some more.
mmmm this brings me back to when i was sketching a scene from my story, reeve drives a dagger into the ashalt and haunches over just like that, only his hands are planted onto the ground. deffinately worth a fav.
God Ashryn, this is so beautiful... I can't begin to explain how much this picture drew me in. It's strange - cause I have so many artists on my watch, I go through and comment idly to let them know I care and that I'm looking at their stuff... then I'll occasionally come across something especially strong that just, grabs me and draws me in like this. This image is so beautiful, it has so much feeling, so much depth. I adore the use of colors, the greys, whites and the slight bit of red. The way it looks like he's flopped down in the snow, so sad and hurt and cold... gah. It's beautiful.
Very touching...all that white...and then the red from the blood to bring out the contrast. I love the haziness and softness around the character on the left side, it really pushes him into that white backdrop and the shading on the right keeps him defined. Might sound obvious but I think it's something a lot of people miss on when they try effects like this.
On a side note, me and some friends were having a discussion a few weeks ago that when people are sad, snow falls on them. It was a humorous conversation but after seeing this, now the topic takes a little contrast as well and tugs on those heart strings. Great work!
